Members cannot receive anything that looks like a “bonus” outside of their living allowance.

Q: Do I get a free ski pass?

A: AmeriCorps members receive a wellness benefit which they can spend on approved wellness or mental health support. This can be used toward a ski pass if you choose.

Q: Can I be hired as a center or town employee to serve my AmeriCorps hours?

A: No. As an AmeriCorps member, you are in a different role than employees. AmeriCorps members are not employees of the organization. You can get a second job outside of your AmeriCorps job if you would like to make additional income. However, you cannot be serving as AmeriCorps and also be an employee of your center at the same time.
