Bright Futures is connected to the State of Colorado Early Childhood Council Network. Each of our four counties, Ouray, San Miguel, Delta, and Montrose has a local council that deals with early care and education, health, mental health and family concerns for children birth to five years of age. Each of the local councils sends two representatives to the Regional Council Meetings to collaborate on all issues concerning these children.
Bright Futures through a Qualistar Program provides up to date data base for parents looking for quality child care in the region. The child care providers use this service as a resource for their work and for continuing education in their field. Child care centers and homes in the region can become Qualistar rated to raise the quality of their business by meeting high standards set by experts in the field.
Bright Futures runs a Parents as Teachers Program in Ouray, San Miguel and West Montrose counties. Parents as Teachers is a national program educating parents about early childhood through home tutoring, classes, and group meetings. |
